Civil Engineer – Summer Internship

About the role

Carlson Consulting Engineers currently has a need for a Civil Engineering Intern to train to assist in the design of large and small retail projects. The Intern will work alongside our Professional Design Team to aid in the design, permitting, and coordination of projects from conception through construction.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the design, permitting, and coordination of projects from conception through construction
• Work alongside the Professional Design Team
• Document items seen in the field
• Travel to different job sites as needed
• Communicate with client staff
• Work on multiple projects at one time

Requirements

• Ability to travel (flying and driving) to different job sites
• Effective communication skills
• Capable of being on feet 3-4 hours at a time
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
• Self-motivated, capable of working independently or within a project team
• 1-2 years’ experience in AutoCAD (preferred)

Qualifications

The Applicant should possess a good working knowledge of AutoCad and reading of site plans. The Applicant should also have the ability to communicate with other team members and clients effectively.
