About the role
The current vacancies are in the Engineering Department and Water Resources Department, which will be filled at either the Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer level; however, this recruitment will also be used to establish a Citywide list to fill possible future vacancies.

Duties
- Civil Engineer: Performs professional civil engineering work including design layout and plan review. May supervise the work performed by technical or paraprofessional Engineering staff.
- Senior Civil Engineer: Performs advanced responsible professional engineering work. Directs and reviews the work performed by lower-level professional and paraprofessional engineers, technicians, inspectors, surveyors, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements

- Civil Engineer Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or closely related field.
- Special Requirements: Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver’s License by hire or promotion date. Some (6 months - 1 year) civil engineering experience is desirable. Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is also desirable.
- Senior Civil Engineer Minimum Qualifications: Registration As a Professional Civil Engineer. Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver's License by hire or promotion date (by assignment). Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Arizona is required within six months of hire.
