Civil Engineer Floodplain Manager

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Official to oversee all aspects of building department services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction codes, zoning regulations, and building inspections.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plan review processes for all building permits
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with local building codes and zoning regulations
• Enforce building codes and regulations to maintain safe living conditions
• Respond to public inquiries regarding building codes and zoning regulations
• Prepare and present reports on building department activities and findings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection and code enforcement
• Knowledge of local building codes and zoning regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with building permit software
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay
