About the role
Join our team as a Civil Engineer! Matrix is seeking a self-driven mid to senior-level experienced Civil Engineer to join our team in one of our 8 office locations (Maumee, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Westminster, CO; Indianapolis, IN; Peachtree City, GA; Overland Park, KS; Edina, MN; Raleigh, NC). We will consider a fully remote option for the right candidate.
Overview
The position is salaried and includes eligibility for overtime pay. The position will work independently and as a part of a diverse team of multi-discipline engineers and architects to solve problems and execute projects for industrial and manufacturing clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead designs for site grading, site layout, stormwater management, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water/firewater piping, pavement, parking lots, private roads/drives, erosion and sediment control, railroad spurs and general site development for industrial and manufacturing facilities.
- Lead the development of engineering contract documents including drawings, details, specifications, and installation scopes of work using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Lead gathering field data including hand measurements, surveying, 3D scanning, and ground penetrating radar.
- Lead estimating material take-offs and preparing budgetary construction cost estimates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university.
- Four (4) to ten (10) years of related civil engineering experience.
- Experience in engineering consulting and/or working at manufacturing facilities preferred.
- PE Required or ability to obtain within 12 months of start date.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs.
- The employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to a wide range of known food allergens.

Compensation
Matrix offers market-competitive compensation for a Civil Engineer with a base range of $81,000 to $115,000 annually, and a total compensation package that includes profit sharing, ESOP participation, 401(k) matching, and overtime pay. Salaries are based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
