Civil Engineer - Ag Construction
About the role
Nutrien Ag Solutions is seeking a Land Development Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for maintaining safety standards, developing high-quality site plans, and managing various aspects of land development projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an ongoing commitment to safety and safe working practices in all engagements
- Consistently demonstrate expertise in developing high quality site plans, reports, and documents for land development projects
- Oversee the design and quality assurance of plans produced in alignment with project milestones
- Adhere to zoning and permit requirements with local, state, and federal agencies
- Collaborate with project teams to meet project schedules and budgets from initial concept through project closeout
- Prepare plans, reports, and related documents, including but not limited to grading, erosion control, utilities, roads, and drainage
- Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the construction team, vendors, and external consultants
- Manage the procurement and execution of external vendors for a variety of services (geotechnical reports, land surveying, wetlands mitigation)
- Identify and resolve complex land development issues with reviewing agencies
- Anticipate adjustments and implement mitigation strategies to proactively manage risk
- Drive process improvement across the business to foster efficiency and efficacy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in land development project engineering and drafting
- Professional Engineer (PE) license. Preference for licensure in Illinois, Indiana, or Iowa
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and other related civil engineering software
- Interpersonal effectiveness, influencing outcomes with effective negotiation
- Flexible approach to working independently and within a cooperative team environment
- Enthusiasm to complete additional assignments to meet business objectives
- Ability to travel occasionally (10%)

Pay
The salary range for this role, in Deerfield Corporate office location, is between $91,200 - $143,220. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
