Civil Engineer (7-12 Years)
About the role
Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated Civil Engineer with seven (7) to twelve (12) years of experience providing comprehensive civil engineering services, from initial feasibility through design, permitting and construction support for our Bay Area office.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical design and consulting services, including hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, and preparation of public improvement, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility plans.
- Prepare and review construction documents, including plans and specifications, and coordinate with contractors and clients.
- Manage and support projects from concept through completion, including permitting, construction oversight, and post-construction inspections.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Write proposals and scope of work documents for new projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Current registration as an EIT.
- Registration as a Civil Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
- Seven to twelve years of experience in civil design, permitting, and construction administration in various market sectors related to site development.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience in a multi-discipline setting preferred.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
- The motivation to learn the latest technologies and practices to enhance professional career.
- Excellent time management skills.
Qualifications

Benefits
- Approximate Base Salary – $97k-140k based on experience.
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
- Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
- Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
- 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution.
Pay
Approximate Base Salary – $97k-140k based on experience.
