About the role

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. You will work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams to develop 3D models of civil grading and structures, producing civil drawing deliverables within CAD software. This entry-level position provides the opportunity to utilize and expand your drafting skills while collaborating in a team environment with other designers and engineers to prepare design drawings based on design input.

You will apply your computer-aided drafting skills and receive hands-on training in 3D design software environments such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation, as well as training in Sargent & Lundy’s proprietary design databases. The role involves creating master sketches to scale, showing the relation of proposed installations to new and/or existing facilities with exact specifications and dimensions. You may also interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and make appropriate design adjustments.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred; CAD certificate required for non-degreed candidates.
  • Previous relevant experience considered.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation software.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including relating various equipment to a technical design.

Pay

Compensation range: $46,989 - $67,566. Eligible positions include a base salary or hourly rate, comprehensive benefits, and potential participation in a yearly discretionary bonus.

Schedule

Hybrid work arrangement: three days per week in the office and two days remote.
