Position: Civil Designer
We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer II to support a wide range of civil engineering projects, including site development, grading, roadway design, and stormwater management. This role performs design and drafting with increasing independence while working under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform civil engineering design and drafting for site development, grading, roadway, drainage, and utility projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering drawings, details, and plan sets using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and assist with stormwater analysis.
- Assist with specification writing and editing.
- Conduct site visits, construction observations, and field data collection as needed.
- Cookinate with architects, surveyors, structural, environmental, and geotechnical engineers.
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
- Absist with project fee development and support project leadership efforts.
- Mentor and assist junior designers as directed.
- Communicate proactively regarding scope, schedule, and budget considerations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or Associate of Engineering degree with relevant experience, or equivalent international degree subject to review.
- Typically 2+ years of experience with a four-year engineering degree, or equivalent experience based on education path.
- Experience with civil engineering projects including site design, grading, roadway, and hydrology.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Experience with hydrology and hydraulics software preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work productively with limited supervision.
- Ability to travel locally and attend client or company meetings as needed.
- Pasring the FE exam is a plus.
