Civil Designer
About the role
Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced CAD technician/designer to join our Land Development team in Miami, Florida (FL).
Responsibilities
- Designing and producing sets of plans for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential Land Development projects
- Implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
- Developing technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- Making and quality checking drawings and plans of substantial complexity
- Performing some multifaceted calculations
- Applying knowledge of engineering principles and suggesting design changes
- Maintaining drawing database
- Supervising and training CAD staff as needed
- Coordinating work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
- Developing familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant experience with Land Development design
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
- Ability to work independently and with a team
