Civil Designer

About the role

Our US East Design & Delivery Organization (DDO) is seeking a Civil Designer to join the team in Buffalo, NY. In this role, you will prepare detailed design drawings for grading and site development, utility piping, process piping, and chemical feed system layouts of moderate to advanced complexity. This includes developing alignments, profiles, cross sections, and details specific to wastewater/water facilities and horizontal infrastructure design projects such as force mains, storm/sanitary sewers, and water pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Work independently.
• Solutions Analysis: Interpret data and identify possible answers while navigating a variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.
• Personal Capability Building: Develop your capabilities through assessment, development planning, formal and informal training, and coaching. Stay updated on relevant technology, external regulations, and industry best practices.
• Operational Compliance: Understand and adhere to the organization’s policies, procedures, and regulatory codes. Obtain authorization for exceptions from mandatory procedures.
• Project and Solution Development: Carry out project development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and deliver design projects.
• Design and Conceptualization: Research and interpret data, trends, and benchmarks relevant to digital services design.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in CADD or Civil Engineering Technology; HS Diploma and relevant experience will also be considered.
• 2-5 years of experience in site-civil, water & wastewater, stormwater, or erosion & sediment control design.
• Strong technical skills with AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Revit, Civil HydroCAD, and/or TR-55 experience is a plus.

Pay

Salary range: $24.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience and location.

Schedule

Hybrid work model: Three days per week in the office for collaboration and connection.
