Civil Designer
About the role
We're seeking a Designer with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills to support civil and fiber infrastructure projects. In this role, you'll transform survey, GIS, and project data into accurate, construction-ready designs that support broadband and utility network expansion.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify civil design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Develop surfaces, alignments, pipe networks, profiles, and cross-sections
- Convert vector PDFs into usable CAD linework
- Create and maintain templates, blocks, and Civil 3D Part Objects
- Process point cloud data into surfaces and contour models
- Support fiber optic network design and documentation
- Utilize GIS data from ArcGIS or QGIS when applicable
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality design solutions
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience creating surfaces, alignments, pipe networks, profiles, and cross-sections
- Advanced AutoCAD drafting skills
- Experience converting PDFs to CAD data
- Knowledge of templates, blocks, and Civil 3D Part Objects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with point cloud processing and surface modeling
- Strong civil design and drafting experience
- Able to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred
- Fiber optic design experience
- Experience with ArcGIS or QGIS
- Experience in civil engineering, site development, utilities, or telecommunications infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, with preference for candidates located in Texas, Minnesota, or Wisconsin, though qualified candidates from other locations are encouraged to apply. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
