How You Will Make An Impact
- Prepare and review contract documents, designs, and specifications for civil projects.
- Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, plans, technical specifications, and reports, including day to day correspondence.
- Work on construction sites, performing review activities.
- Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed site civil and development features.
- Prepare site design calculations and lead effort of project team.
- Perform a variety of engineering analyses and calculations, with and without the use of engineering software.
- Develop design details and specify appropriate construction materials.
- Coverage construction quality control services, conduct periodic site visits, and review daily field reports prepared by others.
What You Bring to The Team
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Site/Civil Design from a 4-year accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam, EIT, or EIT required. Professional Registration or ability to attain professional registration in the State of Michigan within 12 months preferred.
- 3+ years of demonstrated solar energy and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) site development experience including site layout, grading, storm water management, pile layout, landscape buffer design, and other project deliverable completion responsibilities.
- Ability to support site civil package deliverables development with minimal oversight.
- AutoCAD proficiency required.
- Understand, read, and prepare design drawings and specifications for energy related project site development with a focus on solar energy generation.
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills for contact with clients and fellow engineers/technicians.
- Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments at any given time, delegate tasks and assignments, and work in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to enter and work within confined spaces, once appropriately trained.
- May be required to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.
