About the role
Join the KPFF Lacey team in a fun, collaborative and dynamic office setting as a motivated, energetic and passionate civil design engineer with 4-6 years of experience who is eager to expand your design and project management skills. In addition to strong technical knowledge, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, permitting, and preparation of construction documents, as well as technical specifications.
Responsibilities
- Research and coordinate project requirements
- Analyze and design water, sewer, and storm systems
- Site planning and grading
- Stormwater management design
- Prepare construction drawings
- Prepare technical reports
- Prepare project specifications
- Prepare project cost estimates
- Submit permit applications
- Provide construction administration support
- Communicate with design consultants, municipalities, contractors, and clients
- Attend site visits
Qualifications
- B.S. Degree or higher
- P.E. License in Washington
- 4-6 years of experience in site development engineering
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience
- Knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction of major site development projects in Washington
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills are essential
- Competency, accountability, and personal commitment to deliver quality work to our clients
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits
- Occasionally, it may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs
- Occasionally, visiting project locations and performing field inspections which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain

Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive, with a range of $95,000 - $120,000 determined by experience, education, and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
