Civil Construction Carpenter

Primary Responsibilities

• Constructing and maintaining safety handrails and hole protection, steps and gang ladders, temporary weather enclosures and protection.
• Sawing, stripping, nailing, burning, measuring, tightening/loosening bolts, drilling & other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Concrete Carpenter Knowledge and Skill

• Concrete forming and form systems install
• Placement of concrete for multiple types of concrete structures including foundation concrete footings and grade beams, column and wall formwork (all types: Gang forms, Stick Build, Slip Forms, etc)
• Set anchor bolts templates, rebar templates, erect temporary handrails and walk planks and associated safety related items
• Sawing, stripping, nailing, burning, measuring, tightening/loosening bolts, drilling & other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• 3 years of construction experience
• Must be able to read basic drawings
• Have training on construction safety protocols (i.e. OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform (boom and scissor))

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED are a plus
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects, work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, can see & hear well either naturally or with correction
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs, 75% of the time

Skills

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
• Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration Document
• Attention to detail and follow directions
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required
• Must have own transportation to various work sites within the state of Arizona
• Must have own finishing tools
• Steel boots are required
• Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures
• Must have own nail bags and tools for forming and finishing

Benefits

Salary: $28 - $35 per hour
