Civil CADD Technician

Wetland Studies and Solutions Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient CADD Technician to join our site/civil engineering team at our Richmond, VA office. In this role, you will transform engineering concepts into detailed construction documents and 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete sets of construction drawings for land development projects including site plans, profiles, grading plans, and erosion control plans.
• Build and maintain Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, and profiles.
• Manage external references (Xrefs), data shortcuts, and sheet sets to ensure project consistency.
• Perform self-checks of work to ensure accuracy, neatness, and adherence to company CAD standards.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Civil Engineers to implement design changes and meet tight project deadlines.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years of professional experience in civil site design/drafting.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D is mandatory.
• Solid understanding of land development principles (drainage, setbacks, slopes, and ADA requirements).
• Ability to produce "client-ready" plan sets with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to learn new workflows and maintain organized file structures in a fast-paced environment.
