About the role

As a Civil Bridge Inspector, you will play a key role in the inspection and evaluation of bridge and structural construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include performing and coordinating inspections of bridges and related structures, interpreting project plans and specifications, ensuring construction activities comply with applicable standards, and documenting construction progress in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate inspections of bridges and related structures.
  • Interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with applicable standards.
  • Document construction progress in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with construction managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design intent.
  • Work in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in bridge inspection, structural inspection, or construction inspection related to transportation structures.
  • Knowledge of ODOT/OTA standards, NBIS requirements, and bridge inspection procedures preferred.
  • Experience with bridge components such as decks, substructures, superstructures, and rehabilitation work.
  • Certification(s) such as OSHA 10/30, NBIS (or ability to obtain) preferred.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional extended hours based on project needs.
