About the role

We are seeking a Water CADD/BIM Technician to join our dynamic team at HDR. Our company is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world, and this role plays a crucial part in achieving that goal.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create process design models or pipeline plan and profile drawings independently under direction from a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Perform non-routine and complex BIM modeling and Civil3D drafting assignments, applying standardized electronic modeling/drafting techniques.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with supervisors to meet project deadlines while maintaining work/life balance.
  • Develop design and construction drawings, performing routine CADD/BIM assignments, and managing layers and drawing presentations.
  • Create design drawings and initial engineering layouts for water/wastewater/stormwater conveyance systems and site civil plans.
  • Assemble plan sets and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines and associated reference files.
  • Learn and apply project/client specific drafting standards to drawings.
  • Independently perform redline revisions and develop design drawings from initial sketches.
  • Perform basic quantity and geometry calculations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to recognize issues and solve problems autonomously.
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate, and prioritize workloads associated with several projects.
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience.
  • Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset in 3D coordination tools.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Strong ability to follow written and oral instruction, tasking assignments, and documenting completion of tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Revit to create design drawings and details following CAD standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related industry experience.
  • Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset in 3D coordination tools.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
