About the role

CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our vet‑led clinics. A Veterinary Technician Assistant will also be considered with a minimum of one year of experience. Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians – prep patients for surgery (administer anesthesia, take x‑rays, gather lab specimens), monitor patients post‑op, and restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain samples – gather stool, blood, and other specimens for testing.
• Testing – perform tests on gathered samples and help interpret results.
• Administer medications – provide accurate dosages of prescribed medications, anesthesia, vaccines, or other treatments as directed by the DVM.
• Client communication – obtain medical information from clients and give proper instructions on post‑care according to the veterinarian’s plan.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year veterinary industry experience (Veterinary Technician Assistant qualification).
• Understanding of and ability to safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medication.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb to waist height and perform frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Self‑motivated and team‑oriented.
