About the role
The City of Austin, Minnesota (population approximately 26,000) is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as its next City Administrator and Executive Director of the Austin Port Authority. As the City’s chief administrative officer, the City Administrator provides executive leadership for municipal operations, strategic initiatives, financial management, organizational development, and implementation of City Council priorities while also serving as Executive Director of the Austin Port Authority. Austin is seeking a collaborative, relationship-focused leader who inspires trust, builds consensus, and works effectively with elected officials, employees, businesses, community partners, and residents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, political science, or a related field
- At least five years of progressively responsible local government management experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Experience in economic development

Pay
Salary up to $212,326, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary and benefits are negotiable.
