About the Role
The Department of Planning and Development’s Citizens Planning Institute is seeking a Fall 2026 Intern. This internship is in-person and requires up to 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Interview alumni and draft Citizen Planner in Action stories for the CPI website
- Develop quarterly CPI newsletter and alumni newsletter
- Assist with Fall course development and logistics
- Create promotional videos for the program and the CPI in a Box resource
- Assist with alumni group programming
- Assist with Comprehensive Plan—Phila2050—engagement tactics and data analysis
Essential Functions
- Communications, writing, and interviewing
- Comfort with emailing and calling members of the public
Requirements
- Submit a resume and cover letter with your application
- Currently enrolled in Graduate Level Studies in Community Development, Public Administration, Social Work, or Communications
Skills
The position would suit an enthusiastic, detail-oriented student interested in community planning and citizen advocacy issues with strong communication skills.
- Basic MS Office proficiency required
- GIS skills preferred but not required
- Skills in Constant Contact, WordPress, and videography are a plus but not required
