Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on and accountable Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead, design, and execute our enterprise-wide security strategy. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a tactical leader—capable of driving policy, governance, and compliance, while also being technically proficient and actively involved in day-to-day security operations. This role is for a builder and protector, someone who thrives on creating secure systems, proactively managing risks, and ensuring that security is embedded into every aspect of our business, technology, and culture. Responsibilities Security Strategy & GovernanceDefine and lead the company's information security vision, roadmap, and operating modelAlign security initiatives with business goals, ensuring risk-based prioritizationDrive security posture maturity across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and endpointsOperational LeadershipOversee and manage the security operations center (SOC), incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability managementBuild and run playbooks for threat mitigation and breach containmentEnsure rapid, high-quality incident resolutionTechnical InvolvementStay deeply engaged in security architecture reviews, secure SDLC practices, penetration testing, and cloud security configurationsReview and enforce policies for identity and access management (IAM), zero trust architecture, encryption, and secure networkingWork closely with engineering, IT, DevOps, and product teams on secure-by-design implementationCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, NIST)Lead internal and external audits, risk assessments, and vendor security reviewsDevelop and maintain a robust business continuity and disaster recovery planCustomer EngagementEngage with the field to support customer interactions when neededPro-actively build and maintain relationships with key peers and CISOs at customers, and establish credibility Leadership & CultureFoster a culture of security awareness and accountability across the organizationBuild, mentor, and manage a high-performing security teamCommunicate risks, incidents, and KPIs to executive leadership and the board Requirements Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3+ years in a senior security leadership roleProven experience implementing and operating modern security frameworks across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)Deep technical understanding of security infrastructure, SIEM, EDR, network security, IAM, application security, and cryptographyTrack record of hands-on involvement in incident response and threat managementStrong knowledge of compliance, governance, risk management, and audit processesExperience engaging with regulators, auditors, and enterprise customers on security mattersExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillselevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or SANS GIAC are strongly preferred Location: United States Applicants must be authorized to work in the US The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range of $300,000 to $400,000. A candidate's specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
