Cinema Services Specialist
About the role
The Cinema Studies department is seeking applications for the Cinema Services Specialist position. The purpose of this academic services professional position is to support the development, implementation, coordination, and supervision of the goals, objectives, and activities associated with the Department of Cinema Studies & Moving Image Arts (CINE).
Responsibilities
Implement support procedures to meet the Cinema Studies & Moving Image Arts department goals and objectives. Ensure that the department’s objectives are realized through support in multiple paths, from the website design to daily operations.
Coordinate closely with CINE faculty and staff to ensure their objectives are accomplished and material needs are met through creative problem solving and utilization of available resources, with an eye towards process improvement.
Support current and prospective CINE students, directing to resources and assisting with inquiries or technical issues.
Maintain department list serves, publishes office hours, maintains faculty and student mailboxes, provides information about the department, and assists with clerical support.
Create and maintain webpages, manage departmental events, and coordinate commencement ceremonies.
Provide tours to prospective students and families, plan publicity and marketing materials, handle external communications, and manage alumni relations.
Oversee the BFA application process, assist with undergraduate enrollment, and collect and interpret data to evaluate undergraduate majors and funding processes.
Cultivate relationships with business partners, non-profits, and arts institutions to increase CINE-sponsored internships, and enroll students in independent study and internships.
Supervise student staff, set schedules, train employees, monitor performance, and address disciplinary issues.
Operate and troubleshoot digital and analog projection systems, including DCP management and classroom projection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the job duties.
- One (1) year of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
- One (1) year of experience communicating on behalf of an organization with the public in an outreach capacity.
