About the role

Management accounting and business finance qualification designed for those who want finance and strategy roles within organisations rather than external audit or public-practice work. Ideal for careers in management accounting, FP&A, business partnering, and finance leadership.

Structure

Three levels (Operational, Management, Strategic), each comprising three Objective Tests and a Case Study — 12 assessments in total — across the Enterprise, Performance, and Financial pillars (2026 syllabus).

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

CIMA uses a continuous, reflective CPD cycle (assess–plan–do–reflect).

Typically 3–4 years to complete. A CGMA Finance Leadership Program route is also available.
