About the Role
Work as a Scribe for Envision in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) and become a valuable member of the healthcare team. Witness the medical decision-making process of clinicians—Physicians, Physician Assistants, and/or Nurse Practitioners. Document patient notes in an Electronic Medical Record under the direction of a clinician, gaining advanced knowledge of medical terminology and ED operations.
Responsibilities
- Document patient notes in an Electronic Medical Record under clinician direction
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exhibit excellent listening and note-taking skills
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Organize tasks efficiently and manage time effectively
- Remain calm under pressure
- Demonstrate computer proficiency
- Type at least 50 words per minute (adjusted for errors)
Requirements
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or verification that degree is in progress)
- Biology coursework at the undergraduate level or above preferred; Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology coursework preferred
- At least 100 hours of work, volunteer, or shadowing experience in the healthcare field preferred
- Experience in a direct patient care environment preferred (e.g., EMT, scribe, clinical technician in hospital, medical assistant in a doctor’s office)
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent listening and note-taking
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Effective organizational and time management
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure environments
- Computer proficiency
- Typing speed of 50+ words per minute (adjusted for errors)

Pay
Starting rate for this position is $17.50 per hour, with the potential to earn an additional hourly rate for overnight shifts.
Schedule
Full time, 3-4 shifts per week, including 2 weekend shifts per month.
