Ciena - Technical Sales Development Program
About the role
The Technical Sales Development Program (TSDP) is a comprehensive, 24-month program based in Atlanta, GA, designed to prepare participants for successful careers as either an Account Manager (AM) or a Sales Engineer (SE).
Responsibilities
- Work with Ciena's sophisticated technology to understand and utilize the end-to-end sales cycle.
- Engage with customers in a consultative capacity, designing networks and developing business strategies.
- Undertake deep dives into Ciena's product portfolios, customer landscape, network and engineering design, and key functional groups.
- Learn to understand what excellent customer service looks like and provide it.
- Develop strong relationships with current customers and identify new business opportunities.
- Participate in networking, mentoring, and coaching sessions with engineers, architects, and other professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business.
- Prior technical and/or sales co-op/work experience (desired asset).
Qualifications
Participants in this program will have ample opportunities for networking, mentoring, and coaching with engineers, architects, and other professional/technical personnel enterprise-wide. They will work with Ciena's sophisticated technology and learn to prospect for new business, solve problems, and understand excellent customer service.
Skills
Participants will gain a deep understanding of Ciena's product portfolios, customer landscape, network and engineering design, and key functional groups such as Field Service, Technical Support, Professional Services, and Program Management.

Pay
The annual pay for this position is $74,000 + 25% target commission. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. Ciena is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
