Cibo Server Assistant

About the role

The Cambria Hotel in Detroit is expanding and seeking a dynamic and energetic Server Assistant to join their team. Cibo Detroit, a fine dining restaurant within the hotel, is also looking for someone to assist with food service and maintaining cleanliness.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Report for duty punctually and in full uniform.
• Set tables with clean linens, glassware, silverware between settings.
• Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant.
• Clean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove empty bottles and trash.
• Remove dirty dishware, glassware, and soiled linens from the table in a discrete and non-intrusive manner.
• Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
• Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers.
• Polish silverware and fold linens for table settings when needed.
• Locate items requested by customers.
• Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties when necessary.
• Wipe tables or seats.
• Serve food to customers when waiters or waitresses need assistance.
• Carry linens to or from laundry areas.

Requirements

• Ideal candidate must be extremely friendly, outgoing, and organized.
• Positive attitude and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility when working alternating shifts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent observational skills and situational awareness.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including dealing with difficult and rude patrons.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Prior restaurant experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, stooping, and wiping.
• Ability to walk/stand for entire shift.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
• Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
