About the role

Cibo Detroit is a fine dining restaurant in Downtown Detroit, offering Mediterranean cuisine in an art deco setting. The restaurant is part of a luxury hotel with multiple kitchens and amenities.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests when they enter and exit the restaurant and acknowledge each guest by name.
• Take reservations.
• Answer incoming phone calls.
• Seat guests.
• Assist servers.
• Serve food (if required).
• Regularly check cleanliness of restrooms.
• Observe and report any potential issues in the bar, parking lot, and restaurant area to management.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate must be friendly, outgoing, and organized.
• Must have a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have excellent customer service skills, including dealing with difficult and rude patrons.
• Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be familiar with local areas and able to provide directions and maps to local attractions and destinations.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Prior restaurant experience is preferred.
• Prior hosting experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Frequent pulling, pushing, and bending.
• Must be able to lift fifty pounds at a time.
• Requires standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
