Christian Montessori Elementary Teacher

Tomorrow’s Promise Montessori School is seeking a caring, dependable, and mission-minded Elementary Teacher to join our growing elementary program in Huntsville, Texas. This position is available immediately.

About the role

We are looking for a teacher who believes every child can learn and who is especially interested in helping children who are struggling to develop strong reading skills. The ideal candidate will provide patient, individualized instruction while maintaining a structured, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment. Tomorrow’s Promise is a conservative Christian school. Applicants must be comfortable supporting and modeling our Christian mission, values, and expectations throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging instruction for elementary-aged students.
• Help students build foundational reading, phonics, comprehension, writing, and math skills.
• Work patiently with children who are behind academically or having difficulty learning to read.
• Observe each child’s progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Maintain an orderly, peaceful, and respectful classroom.
• Communicate professionally with parents, administrators, and coworkers.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and school activities.
• Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and classroom expectations.
• Complete Montessori training provided or approved by the school.
• Support the school’s Christian values through words, conduct, and interactions with children and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree in any field preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching reading, phonics, tutoring, homeschooling, or providing intervention is a plus.
• Willingness to complete Montessori training.
• Strong classroom-management and communication skills.
• Dependable, patient, organized, and willing to learn.
• Able to work respectfully as part of a team.
• Must be able to pass all required background checks and meet Texas child-care and school employment requirements.

The ideal candidate is compassionate but firm, enjoys helping children experience academic success, and understands that children may learn at different rates. This person should be willing to receive coaching, follow established procedures, and grow with our expanding elementary program.
