Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Greet and check in patients.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment.
- Aid patients before and after chiropractic treatments.
- Escort patients to examination or treatment areas.
- Inform patients about prescribed exercises, stretches, and wellness programs.
- Maintain patient comfort and report concerns to the chiropractor.
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries.
- Manage patient records and update medical information.
- Verify insurance information and process billing paperwork.
- Collect payments and maintain financial records.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations.
- Clean and sanitize treatment areas and equipment.
- Manage inventory and order office supplies.
- Assist with marketing activities, patient outreach, and retention programs.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming clinic environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One-year experience in a medical office, chiropractic clinic, or customer service role.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHR programs.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Able to obtain BLS/CPR certification within three months of hire date, if not already certified.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability.
- Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.
- Able and willing to travel.
Relationships and Authority
- This position has no supervisory duties.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
- Physical requirements include carrying/lifting up to 5 pounds, frequently; up to 25 pounds, regularly; and up to 50 pounds, occasionally.
- Visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to drive an automobile and operate computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
- Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with occasional travel to other locations.
- At times staff may be required to work with patients/clients who are in crisis and demonstrate empathy, understanding, respect, and advocacy while remaining calm in stressful situations.
