About the role

NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), play a crucial role in the Intelligence Community by analyzing, transcribing, and translating foreign language materials. They contribute to the SIGINT mission, helping U.S. policymakers and military leaders understand foreign language worlds and cultural contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Offer insights to U.S. policymakers and military leaders through analysis of foreign language materials
  • Research and understand other cultures and their operations
  • Develop creative solutions to complex analytic problems
  • Craft written and oral assessments that provide unique insights
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other analysts

Requirements

  • Minimum language proficiency of Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) level 2/2 in reading and listening in the target language
  • Relevant experience in language work, analysis, or related fields
  • Desired coursework and experience in target area
  • Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent, with 4+ years of relevant experience
    • Associate's degree, with 2+ years of relevant experience
    • Bachelor's degree, with 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Master's degree, with 1+ year of relevant experience
    • Doctoral degree, with no experience required

    Skills

    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to analyze and synthesize large volumes of information
    • Knowledge of target language and culture
    • Experience in intelligence analysis, international relations, or related fields

    Pay

    Salary range: $50,460 - $187,093, based on education and experience.

    Schedule

    This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with a flexible work schedule between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
