Chinese Multidisciplined Language Analyst / Language Analyst Development Program (LADP) - Entry to Experienced Level (MD, HI, GA, UT)

About the role

NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), play a crucial role in the Intelligence Community by analyzing, transcribing, and translating foreign language materials. They are integral to the SIGINT mission, offering insights into foreign cultures and operations.

Responsibilities

• Offer U.S. policymakers and military leaders a window into the foreign language world by analyzing, transcribing, and translating key information.
• Research and understand other cultures, their operations, and their place in the geopolitical landscape.
• Apply new techniques and develop creative solutions to address complex analytic problems.
• Craft written and oral assessments that provide unique insights unavailable from other intelligence disciplines.
• Work independently and collaboratively to research, analyze, and report on foreign language materials.

Requirements

• A minimum language proficiency of Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) level 2/2 in reading and listening in the target language.
• Relevant experience in language work, analysis, or related fields such as intelligence analysis, international relations, security studies, journalism, law, STEM, or other topics relevant to NSA's mission.
• Full performance, senior, or entry/developmental level experience as per the pay scale.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with no experience.
• Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree with no experience.
• High school diploma or GED with 10+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Pay, Schedule, & Benefits

• Salary range: $50,460 - $187,093 (Entry/Developmental, Full Performance, Senior).
• Training will be provided based on the selectee's needs and experience.
• DCIPS Trial Period: Two years unless a veteran's preference-eligible employee, in which case one year.
• Security background investigation and polygraph required.
