Chinese Multidisciplined Language Analyst / Language Analyst Development Program (LADP) - Entry to Experienced Level (MD, HI, GA, UT)
About the role
NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), play a crucial role in the Intelligence Community by analyzing, transcribing, and translating foreign language materials. They are responsible for providing insights that support U.S. policymakers and military leaders.
Responsibilities
- Offer U.S. policymakers and military leaders a window into the foreign language world by analyzing, transcribing, and translating key information.
- Research and understand other cultures, how they operate, and their place in the global political landscape.
- Apply new techniques and develop creative solutions to address complex analytic problems.
- Craft written and oral assessments that provide unique insights unavailable from other intelligence disciplines.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other analysts both within NSA and across the Intelligence Community.
Requirements
- Minimum language proficiency of Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) level 2/2 in reading and listening in the target language.
- Relevant experience in language work, analysis, or intelligence-related fields.
- Desired coursework and experience in target development, social network analysis, metadata analysis, research methodology, and quantitative/statistical analysis.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience.
- Doctoral degree with no experience.
Skills
- Intellectually curious and a lifelong learner.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to synthesize information to solve complex problems.
- Ability to provide timely and accurate customer service.
- Experience in target development, social network analysis, metadata analysis, research methodology, and quantitative/statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, computer science, or networking.
- Understanding of telecommunications.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
- Salary range: $50,460 - $187,093 (Entry/Developmental, Full Performance, Senior).
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package.
- Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, flexible hours between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
