Chinese Multidisciplined Language Analyst at National Security Agency (NSA)

About the role

NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), are expected to engage with partners, enablers, and customers across the Intelligence Community. They analyze, transcribe, and translate foreign language materials, research other cultures, and apply new techniques to address analytic problems.

Responsibilities

• Offer U.S. policymakers and military leaders a window into the foreign language world
• Research and understand other cultures and their operations
• Apply new techniques and develop creative solutions to address analytic problems
• Craft written and oral assessments providing unique insights
• Work independently and collaboratively in research, analysis, and reporting

Requirements

• Minimum language proficiency of ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening in the target language
• Relevant experience in language performance, military, teaching, or analysis
• Desired coursework, knowledge, and experience in target development, social network analysis, metadata analysis, research methodology, and quantitative/statistical analysis

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Associate's Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
• Master's Degree with 1+ year of relevant experience
• Doctoral Degree with no experience
