Chiller Technician - Service Technician

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect and test systems for proper operation
• Determine customer concerns
• Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
• Discuss system malfunctions with customers to isolate problems or verify resolution
• Maintain all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives
• Use of cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, rigging equipment, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair equipment
• Work with large Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, and other HVAC Equipment
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders
• Cook with repair and maintenance teams to assist in other work
• Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction

Qualifications

• 5 years’ of chiller experience, with knowledge of maintenance procedures, trouble shooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers of all brands.
• EPA Certification
• A valid driver’s license

Physical Demands

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• This position is a largely a physically active role.
• Field technicians will regularly push and pull heavy loads, climb, crouch, and maneuver around obstacles to gain position in order to service HVAC equipment.
• Work Environment
• This job operates in a field environment.
• Must be able to withstand wide temperature variations as a portion of the work is outside.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
