Chiller Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, test, and repair chiller and large-tonnage air conditioning equipment
• Assist with refurbishment, reconditioning, and preparation of rental equipment
• Perform equipment start-ups and pre-deployment testing
• Complete service, testing, and repair documentation accurately
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Support depot, shop, and field operations as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education & Certifications: High school diploma or GED required. HVAC or Refrigeration degree or technical certificate preferred for higher-level roles. Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification required.
• Experience (Varies By Level): Entry Level - Chiller Tech I: 1–2+ years of HVAC or mechanical experience. Chiller Technician II: 3–7+ years of HVAC experience with chiller exposure. Senior Chiller Technician III: 5–7+ years of hands-on large-tonnage chiller experience.
• Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of refrigerant systems and HVAC best practices. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office; ERP or rental software preferred). Forklift certification required; crane operation experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs using safe lifting practices.
