Chiller Service Engineer, RECRUITMENT HELPLINE
Birmingham-based chiller specialist handling sales, hire, service, and maintenance for industrial and commercial sites across the region, including manufacturing, injection moulding, breweries, food production, and data centres. Most work falls within 70 miles of the city, with 24/7 breakdown cover provided for customers who need it.
About the role
Field-based service and maintenance work across customer sites. You will diagnose faults, carry out planned maintenance, and respond to breakdowns on process and comfort cooling systems, from small process chillers up to large industrial plant. The team is small, so flexibility is key—some days involve straightforward maintenance visits, while others may require staying until a breakdown is resolved.
Responsibilities
- Fault diagnosis and repair on process and comfort cooling systems, from small process chillers up to large industrial plant
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and F-Gas checks
- Commissioning and re-commissioning work
- Flagging remedial works and keeping customers informed on site
- Completing service reports and maintaining accurate job records
- Participating in the shared on-call rota for out-of-hours support
- Assisting the rest of the team when needed
Requirements
- F-Gas Category 1 certification
- Full UK driving licence
- Proven track record working with chillers or industrial refrigeration plant
- Strong diagnostic ability and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, customer-focused attitude with a willingness to support the team
The following are useful but not essential:
- Electrical qualifications (17th / 18th Edition)
- Experience with glycol systems, water chillers, or heat pumps
- Process cooling in a manufacturing environment
- IPAF, PASMA, or CSCS certifications

Pay
£42,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
