Childwatch & Kids Adventure Attendant - Hickory Foundation YMCA

Under the general direction of the Membership Director and consistent with the mission and the policies and procedures set forth by the YMCA of Catawba Valley.

Responsibilities

• Assure the safety, health, and welfare of the children in the child-watch area.
• Demonstrate and teach the YMCA values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring.
• Organize and maintain classroom activity areas, materials, and supplies.
• Keep the director advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired or replaced.
• Maintain constant supervision of children.
• Take daily attendance and keep all required reports pertaining to Child Watch.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with parents.
• Build good communications with other staff to create a professional atmosphere.
• Attend pre-employment and in-service training as required.
• Create a learning environment.
• Keep the Membership Director informed of problems.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
• Report to work promptly and be well-groomed at all times.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Membership Director or the Executive Director.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment by following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Current certification in first aid, safety, and CPR.
• Knowledge of emergency policies and procedures for the facility.
• Understanding of risk management issues and safety requirements for the facility.
• Good communication and organization skills.

Pay

USD $10.00 - USD $11.00 per hour.
