PRN (as needed) position with possibility of being called to cover crisis admissions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Prior work with targeted population preferred
- Two years of higher education or two years of experience in the Human Services field, or a combination of education and experience to equal 2 years
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively with others
- Self-management skills and ability to react calmly and effectively in a crisis
- Ability to interact one-on-one with children/youth assigned
- Must maintain physical proximity with clients at all times
- Ability to utilize non-violent crisis intervention, Child Control position, and Team Control Position as trained by certified CPI trainer upon hire
- Dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and compliance with agency’s liability carrier requirements (may be required depending on job assignment)
- Basic proficiency in math
- Effective utilization of basic office technology
Responsibilities
- Work in a group setting with children and youth diagnosed with Severe Emotional Disturbance, providing supervision, structure, and safety at all times
- Assist patients in developing skills necessary to function and maintain on their own in various community settings
- Provide one-on-one supervision, safety, and structure to patients with Severe Emotional Disturbances at Kids Konnection
- Use Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention system of care to provide care, welfare, safety, and security to patients at all times, including physical management techniques with patients of all sizes (ages 6-18, weights 120-170 lbs or larger)
- Provide objective and clear documentation on the overall progress of patients in the program
- Implement treatment goals as stated in the child’s individual treatment plan
- Communicate regularly with patients, their families, and their educational staff
- Transport patients as required by their treatment plan
- Prepare healthy meals for youth admitted to the crisis house
- Return phone calls and emails within 24 hours of receiving
- Provide a warm, stable, secure, and positive environment for youth while admitted to the crisis house
- Demonstrate flexibility and dependability in performance of duties
- Attend required agency and departmental meetings and/or trainings
Pay
- Crisis Rates Level 1: $15/hour (for those who meet criteria to bill Basic Crisis Intervention and have an AA/AS degree or equivalent)
