About the role
Supervise children (ages 12 months to 12 years old) while their parent/sibling has a medical appointment at the Steven A. Cohen Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision in the Children’s Waiting Room operating hours: Monday through Friday from 0900 to 0500.
- Operate and maintain the Children’s Waiting Room, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Ensure all policies are followed, including registration, sign-in/sign-out, and record keeping.
- Report and document any accidents or unsafe conditions.
- Clean toys and equipment with disinfectants upon closing.
- Manage inventory and inform the Programs Manager about needed supplies.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children.
- Understanding of military family challenges.
- Experience in preparing and developing age-appropriate activities.
Skills
- Exemplary behavior modeling.
- Communication with Programs Manager and hospital staff.
- Child abuse reporting procedures knowledge.
- Volunteer supervision and management.
- Facility and equipment maintenance.
