About the Role

Join Oakland County Children’s Village in a leadership role where you’ll guide daily operations, develop staff, strengthen program quality, and ensure services are delivered safely and in compliance with regulatory standards. This position is on-site with a salary range of $94,615 - $126,766.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for daily program operations, focusing on safety, regulatory compliance, staff development, and quality improvement.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise subordinate supervisors and staff, offering coaching, guidance, and performance support.
  • Promote consistent use of behavior management and crisis intervention practices to maintain a safe environment for youth and staff.
  • Monitor program and staff performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective and consistent program operations.
  • Ensure staff adherence to organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and established standards.
  • Utilize Countywide and department-specific technology for daily operations, documentation, and reporting.
  • Provide leadership coverage, including evenings and weekends, based on operational needs.
  • Conduct daily reviews of restraint, seclusion, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) interventions to ensure compliance with licensing standards.
  • Observe staff performance through video review and direct observation, providing coaching and feedback.
  • Assist in internal and external investigations by reviewing documentation, video footage, and other materials.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate campus-wide CPI and behavioral intervention training sessions.
  • Support restraint reduction initiatives and ensure compliance with PREA standards.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance initiatives and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Supervise Program Supervisors and the Operations Coordinator, collaborate with administrators, and manage staffing schedules.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support strategic planning and policy development.
  • Participate in disciplinary processes and serve on the Children's Village Leadership Team (CVLT).
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory funding policies and advise on implementation changes.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to monitor performance and address programming issues.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Master's degree: 3+ years of experience planning, directing, and controlling special projects, grants, and training initiatives, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
    • Bachelor’s degree: 5+ years of experience planning, directing, and controlling special projects, grants, and training initiatives, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge/Skills:
    • Considerable knowledge of MDHHS licensing rules, statutes, and case law pertaining to juveniles.
    • Ability to compile statistics, evaluate information, and present reports.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective supervisory and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in budgetary analysis and software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, internet).
    • Understanding of shelter care, residential treatment, community-based programming, and detention programming.

Special Requirements

  • Submit to immunizations and periodic tuberculin skin tests or chest X-rays as required.
  • Provide documentation from MDHHS confirming no history of child abuse or neglect.
  • Undergo a criminal history check.
  • No convictions for child abuse, neglect, or felonies involving harm or threatened harm within the last 10 years.
