Children's Clinic RN/LPN

Ambulatory Clinic RN with authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for delivering nursing care using the nursing process. This role involves independent nursing judgment, assessment, and interpretation of patient data to meet age-specific needs in a family medicine clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the ambulatory setting based on the nursing process and within role/scope of practice.
• Performs preliminary assessment of patients through observation and chart review to facilitate appropriate follow-up with the healthcare team.
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates appropriate intervention.
• Implements clinical decisions and demonstrates appropriate use of expert peers and/or management as applicable.
• Accepts accountability and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and delegated healthcare providers.
• Demonstrates appropriate use of standards, effective use of resources, and evaluation of patient response in delivering care.
• Identifies teaching/learning needs of patients and provides educational instruction to patients and families.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient and family teaching and documents in patient charts.
• Responds to and refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
• Completes necessary forms (e.g., FMLA, DME, Home Health orders) and obtains physician signatures as appropriate.
• Performs professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic typing and word processing ability.
