About the role

The Children’s Ambassador position at Children’s Wisconsin is designed to welcome and support families and visitors in a compassionate and effective manner. This role requires a high level of customer service, empathy, and the ability to manage various scenarios with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors with warmth and empathy, recognizing their emotional state and providing a positive first impression.
• Badge and screen guests according to visitation guidelines, ensuring they understand the rules and procedures.
• Guide families through the facility, offering assistance with navigation and transportation needs.
• Provide internal patient transport, ensuring safety and engagement throughout the process.
• Stock and move wheelchairs, strollers, and carts to maintain accessibility across the facility.

Requirements

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• One year of customer service experience, including conflict management.
• Understanding of developmental needs across all age groups.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and prioritization skills.
• Confidence and composure in stressful situations, with the ability to diffuse negativity.
• Critical thinking skills to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual abilities preferred.
• CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) required within 90 days of hire.

Schedule

• On-call shift: Required approximately once every two weeks.
• This is a paid "stand by" shift for illness replacement.
• Coverage includes 1st and 2nd shift on Saturday and Sunday.
• 3rd shift on-call coverage is required seven days a week.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Holiday rotation: Participation in a holiday rotation is required.
