Children’s and Preschool Minister

About the Role

Responsible to the Pastor for planning, directing, and developing comprehensive ministry to preschoolers and children (birth through 6th grade) at Eastern Hills Baptist Church.

Responsibilities

• Preschool Ministry (Birth-Kindergarten)
  • Work closely with the ministerial staff and develop a Preschool Ministry Committee to oversee ministry to preschool children and their parents.
  • Coordinate childcare and nursery workers on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and other times as needed.
• Children’s Ministry (Grades 1-6)
  • Oversee strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and events for outreach, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry.
  • Work closely with the ministerial staff and develop a Children’s Ministry Advisory Committee to oversee all facets of the Children’s Ministry.
  • Offer guidance to children and their parents concerning spiritual, personal, and family matters; make referrals to qualified counselors as needed.
• Family Ministry
  • Build relationships with parents and guardians of children.
• Administrative
  • Work with the Nominating Committee to enlist all Preschool and Children’s Ministry Sunday School workers.
  • Work with the Stewardship Committee to prepare annual budgets for Preschool and Children’s Ministries and oversee finances.
  • Coordinate all programs and events with the church calendar and other church ministries.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and retreats.
• Serve as leader, enlister, motivator, and resource person for church members who assume leadership positions.
• Accomplish other duties as assigned.

• Pursue holiness through personal Bible study and prayer.

Unity

• Faith and practice must align with Southern Baptist doctrine as outlined in The Baptist Faith and Message.
• Support the vision of the Pastor and promote unity within the fellowship of Eastern Hills Baptist Church.
