About the role
Responsible for providing educational and therapeutic support to children with special needs in a childcare setting. Duties include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, assisting with daily routines, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and has experience working with children with special needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities
- Absorb and follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, bathing, and hygiene
- Collaborate with other professionals to develop individualized care plans
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to children
- Document observations and progress in child's file
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- At least 1 year of experience working with children with special needs
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special needs
- Knowledge of early childhood development
- Experience with therapeutic interventions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
