Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Childcare Site Director for their After School Program at Meadows of Dan Elementary School in Meadows of Dan, VA for the 2026–2027 school year.

$18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience

Follows the school calendar
Afternoon Program: 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Position Responsibilities

Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Education And Experience Requirements:
    • Candidate must meet one Virginia-approved qualification pathway:
      • Graduate degree in a child-related field (e.g., education, child development, nursing, recreation) with a minimum six (6) months of programmatic experience
      • Bachelor’s degree or endorsement in a child-related field with a minimum one (1) year of programmatic experience
      • Forty-eight (48) semester hours or seventy-two (72) quarter hours from an accredited college or university, including at least twelve (12) semester hours or eighteen (18) quarter hours in child-related subjects, and a minimum one (1) year of programmatic experience
      • Minimum two (2) years of programmatic experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role
      • PLUS One Of The Following:
        • One-year early childhood certificate consisting of at least thirty (30) semester hours
        • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent
        • Certification from a recognized Montessori organization
    • Management Requirements:
      • Management experience is defined as at least six (6) months in an administrative role involving supervising, orienting, training, and scheduling staff, OR completion of one of the following:
        • one college-level business course
        • ten (10) clock hours of management training
        • one child care management course covering planning, budgeting, staffing, and monitoring

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification
