About the role

As the Lead Toddler Teacher, you will lead a group of young learners and create a positive, engaging learning environment. This full-time role involves providing nurturing, safe, and high-quality care to toddlers while collaborating with parents and team members to meet children's developmental needs. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a dynamic and developmentally appropriate curriculum for toddlers
  • Advance physical and intellectual competencies by adapting program activities to meet the needs of the children
  • Create a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for toddlers to learn and grow
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally with both parents and fellow staff members
  • Capture and communicate child's daily activities and progress
  • Collaborate with other team members to plan and participate in school events and activities
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines set by the school and state regulations
  • Continuously engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education

Requirements

  • A 2 or 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (current enrollment in pursuit of a degree will be considered)
  • Previous experience working with toddlers or in a childcare or educational setting
  • EEC Certification preferred (school will assist in obtaining certification)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Availability to work between the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm

Qualifications

  • Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid
  • Ability to see and read newsprint, with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances
  • Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feet, with or without corrective devices; this includes the ability to evacuate the building during emergencies
  • Ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved
  • Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations
