Job Summary
The Childcare Attendant at Schweitzer is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children aged 3 months to 11 years old. This role involves supervising children, planning and leading activities, ensuring cleanliness and safety, and communicating with parents or guardians.

Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor children to ensure the safety and well-being of children ages 3 months to 11 years old by maintaining constant supervision during play, meals, and rest periods.
- Engage in age-appropriate activities by planning and leading educational and recreational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Entertain them with books, movies, games and activities. Infant care includes feeding, changing diapers and napping.
- Support emotional and social development by encouraging positive interactions among children, helping resolve conflicts, and modeling respectful behavior.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by keeping play areas, toys, and equipment clean and organized, and following health and safety protocols.
- Communicate with parents or guardians by providing updates on children's behavior, activities, and any incidents, maintaining a professional and friendly rapport.
- May assist with outdoor pre-ski program and dressing/undressing children with lessons during winter season.
Secondary Responsibilities

Specific Job Skills
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certified or willing to be certified
- Childcare state license with an Enhanced Background Check requiring fingerprinting
- English reading, writing, and communication, basic math
- Parental skills or 6 months childcare facility experience preferred
Physical Capabilities
- Lift 25 lbs frequently and possibly up to 60 lbs
- Stand and walk for the majority of an 8 hour shift
- Exposure to many viruses including colds and flus as well as Bloodborne pathogens and other bodily fluid hazards
