About the role
The Growing Years of Clayton is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers for our Infant classroom. We are a family‑oriented, close‑knit organization offering a fun and professional environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass all background checks
- Previous childcare experience (preferred)
- Physical ability to work around small children: sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing stairs
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:15 am – 5:15 pm
Pay
$15 – $18 per hour, based on education and experience

Responsibilities
- Willingness to effectively substitute for any position as needed, including covering breaks, filling in for absent staff, and assuming classroom duties before or after scheduled shifts
- Demonstrate patience, kindness, and positive interactions with all children, parents, and staff
- Operate as a team player and help where needed under the direction of the lead teacher
