Childcare Assistant Teacher – After School

About the role

Healthy Kids Programs is looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join the team as After School Care Assistant Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year at Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School in Ravenna, OH. This is a part-time, non-exempt position with hours from 2:25 pm to 6:00 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities.
  • Provide homework assistance to children.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment while acting as a positive role model.
  • Report to the program ready to work at designated times and stay until the last child leaves.
  • Communicate daily with parents and family members via the Playground App.
  • Observe and follow state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Perform management functions such as maintaining accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).

Requirements

  • 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience working with kids under 13.
  • Medically cleared of any communicable diseases, including TB.
  • Must be warm, friendly, upbeat, and possess exceptional people skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and prompt.
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry (up to 50 lbs.), and keep up with children.

Pay

$14.50 per hour.
