Childcare Assistant - Overnight

Chambliss Center for Children is seeking Teacher Assistants for part‑time and as‑needed work providing 24/7/365 care for children up to age 12. The role includes overnight shifts during the week and occasional weekend days, offering a flexible schedule for those passionate about creating a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the care of children while on duty, including overnight and weekend periods.
• Supervise an assigned group of children both indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain an orderly classroom environment.
• Foster positive, cooperative relationships with staff, parents, and volunteers.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Lead Teacher, Executive Director, or Associate Directors of Extend Child Care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background screening.
• Childcare experience required.
• Passion for working with children and families.

Pay

• $11 per hour with a High School diploma and no prior child‑care experience.
• $13 per hour with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• $14.50 per hour with an Associate’s Degree.
• Rates increase with additional education and experience.

Schedule

Shifts run from 6 PM to 7 AM for assigned duties, with flexibility for part‑time and as‑needed coverage.
